The Energy Catalyzer (also called E-Cat) is a supposed cold fusion reactor promoted by its inventor Andrea Rossi with support from the late physicist Sergio Focardi An Italian patent, awarded without a technical examination, describes the apparatus as a "process and equipment to obtain exothermal reactions, in particular from nickel and hydrogen". Rossi and Focardi said the device worked by infusing heated hydrogen into nickel powder, transmuting it into copper and producing excess heat.[An international patent application received an unfavorable international preliminary report on patentability in 2011 because it was adjudged to "offend against the generally accepted laws of physics and established theories"...

What is the E-Cat?
E-Cat stands for “Energy Catalyzer” and is an invention considered by many to be one of the most important technological developments of of our age. It is an energy production device invented by Italian-American inventor Andrea Rossi who has been developing of the course of over two decades.
How Does the E-Cat Work?
While there is considerable secrecy surrounding the exact technical specifications of the E-Cat, patent disclosures state that powdered nickel metal, lithium and lithium aluminum hydride (LaAlH4) are combined to produce large amounts of electricity or heat, far in excess of possible chemical reactions.
In this process, when an external energy source is applied to the E-Cat device, large amounts of energy in the form of electricity or heat are produced, much more than the electrical energy input into the device. The exact nature of the energetic stimulation that is applied to E-Cat devices in order to “catalyze” the energy output is a closely kept trade secret.
The significance of the E-Cat as an energy source is that it can produce energy at a much cheaper rate and much more cleanly than other sources on the market. The major ingredients, nickel, lithium and hydrogen are common elements and readily available at low cost, and inside the E-Cat are consumed in very small quantities. There is no release of CO2 or other greenhouse gases from the E-Cat from fuel combustion. Unlike traditional nuclear fission power, no radioactive materials are involved, and no radioactive waste is produced.
There have been numerous tests of the E-Cat reported over the years. Andrea Rossi launched the first commercial E-Cat plant, a 1 MW thermal power plant in Bologna, Italy on October 28th, 2011.
Below is a photograph of an early E-Cat unit (sometimes referred to as ‘hot cats). Andrea Rossi recently provided the dimension of this reactor: “the diameter of the internal cylinder is 30 mm, the diameter of the external cylinder is 90 mm, the length of both is 330 mm.”...

An apparatus for providing electrical power to a load includes a voltage source, a check valve that is oriented to prevent current from flowing towards the load, a vacuum diode that includes a cathode and an anode separated by a gap, and a magnet. The cathode and the anode are coated with a corresponding ceramic that includes a titanate group bonded to one of strontium and nickel. The magnet is oriented to cause magnetic field lines that are parallel to a cathode ray that forms across the gap during operation of the vacuum diode. The load is connected between the voltage source and the check valve and the vacuum diode is connected between the check valve and the load such that electric current into the load includes a contribution from the cathode ray in the vacuum diode.

Creation of virtual particles is advantageous in vacuum because density of allowable energy states is high, but in conventional metal conductors, is hindered by a relatively small number of allowable states. By using the difference, a highly efficient electric energy generation device can be manufactured, which is a purpose of the present invention. The purpose is solved by the electric energy generation device, which is formed from a conductive hollow casing made of metal or quartz containing a conductor, connected to a power source that drives an electron gun made of a tungsten-hafnium alloy, and having a grid formed on the electron gun, wherein a magnet causes an electron to run straight toward a target as soon as the electron hits a target on an opposite side, the casing is grounded until a cavity is saturated, when the cavity is saturated, a MOSFET prevents the electron from heading to the ground, and a diode guides the electron to a condenser and from the condenser to a load.

Dear Dr Rossi,
More and more often on JONP, I see questions addressed to you about the types of loads that the E-Cat is able to “manage”.
Regarding this “topic” I believe I can provide some very important indications.
Thanks to the integration and demo of the E-Cat EV on my Twizy, I had the opportunity to use, under its control, on September 6 and 7, 2024, a 3kW E-Cat.
Much has been said and written about the demonstration at the Latina racetrack on September 27, 2024, as has also been done about the test on the roller bench on September 7, 2024 (8 hours of testing at the same power used in the Latina demonstration of the E-Cat EV).
Much less has been written/said about the tests carried out by Us on September 6, 2024 in my Box, while we “integrated” the E-Cat into my Twizy to carry out, the following day, the test on the roller bench (in those 2 days the Ecat always remained under my “control/sight”, and on the night of September 6, at the end of the joint activity, in preparation for the test on the “rollers”, it remained closed in my box inside the Twizy)...
